Frequently Asked Questions

Q. “How do I know if my pigeon has been paid for?”

A. You will receive an email from us informing you that your pigeons have been paid for and are ready for collection.

Q. “How and when do I get paid for the pigeons that I have sold?”

A. Once your auction has finished, as long as the individual auction has been paid for by the buyer, you will receive payment on the following Monday. We updated our online payment supplier earlier in 2024 and had to make adjustments to the timeframe of paying vendors for their completed auctions. We now have a cut-off for buyers to pay for their completed auction on Monday of every week and vendors will be paid for their auctions the following Monday. All auctions paid for from Tuesday to the following Monday will be paid to vendors the next Monday after the cut-off date.

For example:

Payments are made by direct transfer into your bank account. New customers will need to supply their account name, sort code and account number. You will receive an email with a remittance advice to let you know how much has been paid into your account at 8:00am every Monday.

Q. “When will my pigeons be collected/delivered?”

A. At GB Pigeon Auctions Services, we aim to work with a 3-day turnaround system. We ask that all winning auctions be paid for within 3 days of the listings finishing. This helps to get the pigeons collected and delivered quicker to all buyers and helps pay vendors as soon as possible.

Please note: We understand that many pigeon fanciers bid on other auctions that don’t necessarily finish within 3 days of winning closed auctions. All we ask is that you please call Elimar to keep us informed so we can make a note on your file and avoid chasing payments.

Q. “How many auctions can I bid on/buy?”

A. You can bid on as many auctions as you like, but we do require payment in full if you have 6 winning auctions outstanding before you can bid on any further live auctions.

Q. “Why can’t I add an image onto my auction listing?”

A. The most common problem people have when trying to upload images onto the auction listings is that your image is too big for our server to accept. The easiest solution is to reduce the size of your photos (as per instructions below) then upload them.

Q. “Can I put a Maximum Bid on?”

A. Yes, you can add a maximum bid to any live auctions. If you do not want to keep logging onto the auction site and topping your bid up if you are constantly being outbid, you can add a maximum and the system will chip away until the auction has finished.

For example: If an auction is on £200.00 and you put a maximum of £500.00, it will chip away and if the auction finishes at £250.00 and you are the winning bid, that is what you will pay.

Q. I have won an auction, how do I pay?

A. You can either pay online after the auction has finished or ring Elimar and we can take payment over the phone through Barclays' online payment system.

You can pay by direct transfer into our bank account – details below:

Or you can send us a cheque, made payable to GB Pigeon Auctions Services Limited.

Please make sure that you provide us with the ID Number of the winning auction, which can be found underneath the list of the pigeon.
